Equine Insurance – Racehorses, Breeding Stock And Riding Horses
Insured under this policy are:
- Competition horses — with passports issued by and registered by the Bulgarian horse riding federation and aged from 3 to 15 years, and from 2 to 5 years for the racehorses;
- Breeding stock — aged from 3 to 14 years, with passports issued by the National Office for Selection and Reproduction;
- Green horses — with passports and aged from 1 to 3 years;
- School horses — with passports and aged from 6 to 12 years;
- Riding horses aged from 1 to 14 years.
The sums insured, which are payable in case of loss, are determined after expert’s appraisal and agreement between the insured and BULSTRAD VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP.
Subject to this insurance are only horses with passports, in which all diagnostic examinations, immunisations and preventive measures and diagrams have been recorded.
The insurance guarantees payment of indemnity in case of death or emergency slaughter of insured horses, resulting from:
- fire;
- natural disasters;
- accident;
- contagious diseases;
- parturient complications;
- puerperal infections;
- esophageal tear;
- road accidents during transportation;
- eterinary and sanitary activities against contagious diseases.
Indemnity is also payable in the cases where the insured horses are temporarily or permanently incapable to take part in competitions as a result of:
- lameness (tendinitis, tendovaginitis, bursitis, contusion of joints, rupture of Achilles’ tendon, fractures);
- traumas occurring during competitions or training;
- traumas at getting on or getting off from any means of transport.
