Personal Accident Insurance of Passengers in the Public Transport

The personal accident insurance of passengers in the public transport is compulsory, under the current legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria, for all means of transport delivering public services:
 
• Taxicabs; 
• Railroad transport means;
• Trolleys and busses;
• Aircraft;
• Sea or river vessels;
• Cableway installations and lifts;
 
This insurance provides coverage for the life, health and body integrity of passengers in public transport and persons in the immediate vicinity while the passengers are getting on or off the vehicle.

According to the Ordinance for compulsory insurance, the minimum sum insured for any one event and any one passenger is BGN 20 000.

The insurance premium is calculated based on the number of seats in the vehicle.
